FOLKESTONE WRITERS are running another short story competition this year. Anyone within the UK may enter. The winning stories and others, if considered suitable, will be published in our next Folkestone Anthology. The entrance fee is £5 per story (cheques payable to Folkestone Writers).
FIRST PRIZE £100 SECOND PRIZE £50
The theme of ‘Double Edge’ (used by this year’s Triennial) can be interpreted in a variety of ways, giving plenty of scope; but stories must appeal to an intelligent adult readership. They must be the author’s own original work, as yet unpublished and not submitted elsewhere. Entries of between 1500 and 2000 words should be on A4 pages, 1.5 line-spaced, with margins approx. 2.5 cm and the title and page number in the header. The covering letter should give the title, author’s name, postal and e-mail addresses, phone number, and word-count. All entries must be received by 31st October 2017.
Winners will be announced, prizes presented and stories read at a Book Festival fringe event (entrance free) at 3.00 p.m. on 22nd November 2017 at the SUNFLOWER HOUSE, 45 Foord Road, Folkestone. The Folkestone Writers’ 2017 Anthology and other books will also be on sale.
Preferably send email entries as Word.docx attachments to email@example.com or post three copies to John Sussams, 14A Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone CT20 2QT
